The IBRC has multiple avenues for community engagement, education, and outreach. Our educational initiatives focus on multidisciplinary approaches to provide a comprehensive framework for investigating the relationships between injury and physical mechanical properties. The scope of these initiatives range from a introduction to human anatomy to complex relationships between mechanisms of injury and their implications in real-world investigations.
IBRC researchers, staff, and students are involved in community engagement and outreach by utilizing and presenting knowledge gained through child passenger safety research. The Buckle Up with Brutus campaign provides hands-on car seat safety education and training for parents and caregivers.
